Floyd Mayweather has been challenged by AJ McKee, the latest MMA fighter to make the switch to boxing.
McKee is a Bellator MMA champion who is unbeaten at 18-0 and has called out Mayweather after a breakout performance over the weekend in which he defeated Patricio ‘Pitbull’ Freire.
“I would have a lot of respect for him,” McKee remarked flatly.
“I’m the best at what I do.” He is the greatest in his field.
“I’d just like to share that moment with him.”
“He reminds me of my father!” I refer to my father as “my antique.” If you hit my antique hard at the gym? I’ll [misbehave] with you.
“Be careful, because if you damage my antique, we’ll have a problem.”
Mayweather finished his spectacular career with a perfect 50-0 record in 2017 when he defeated the UFC’s biggest star, Conor McGregor.
He has since fought in exhibition matches against kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa and YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul.
McKee made a jab at Logan and Jake Paul’s involvement in boxing.
“What about these younger boys who aren’t in the sport?” “They have a point to prove,” McKee explained.
“I don’t have anything to prove against Floyd in boxing.”
“It’s just me wanting to be recognized as the best in my sport and share a moment with another great.”
“I hope it happens one day.”
“He told me that he no longer fights. ‘Cool,’ I said.
“But, man, you never know. “You just never know.”
McKee earlier stated to Sky Sports, “I met with Floyd personally, and he told me that he doesn’t fight.”
“But he competes in exhibition matches!”
“It’s a matter of respect.” He battles YouTubers. I have a different degree of regard for you.
“I’m not going in there to smack his head off!” I’d go to sparring matches to put my talents to the test and to move around with a terrific.
“I will remain unbeaten stylistically for the rest of my career.” I shall not be defeated.
“I’ll make Floyd some money as well!”
“His undefeated record, work ethic, and $100 million each fight?
“Like Floyd, I embarked on a lengthy trip.” I didn’t have any favors. Everything has been done in stages for me.
“Things will alter in the near future.” If not for myself, then for other people.”
